IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 | Its been awhile since the last update. What prompted this turbo swap, the need to step on up to bigger and better things? Outta curiosity what were the previous #'s on the 40r? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 | well i ran the 40r all last summer and had fun with it on the stock motor. only tuned it to see 23psi. and with that it made 450whp with 19 degrees of timing. so mild tune but was fun. the change was for a number of reasons. people in mn are getting fast and im trying to keep up with them. so i want to try max the car as much as i can and with what the motor will be and what i have planed for the future this was my choice. also wanted to be a little different now that every one is getting 40r's. and i got one hell of a deal on this turbo from map. so on with the new project. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 | well did some work tonight. cut down the header about two inches and re welded it. also re worked the end tank on the intercooler to give room for the v band clamp on the compressor housing. so i went and stole my bumper back from the painter to test fitment. funniest thing is that i have more room now then the 40R as far as clearances. hear is some pics: |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 | Oh man that is wicked how you routed the exhaust. I've seen a pic of an evo with a similar exhaust routing floating around on here and always thought it would be cool if someone did something similar on our cars. Hats off to ya for ingenuity. |

| Professional STI Racer Feedback Score: 3 reviews | HOLY LOUD EXHAUST!! That has to be loud at WOT. And that endtank on the intercooler scares me, but you have to know whats going on with that. Would love a video when its done. Not only that but I can smell the plastic burning from here, haha. Last edited by boost_happy; 02-04-2008 at 09:11 PM.. |
