IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Oil Brand: Synth/Conventional/Blend: Weight: Driving Condition: Weather Condition: Comments: I know there are a lot of Amsoil and Mobil fans here. I'm pretty new to oil, but i've heard it can make a big difference to the performace/longevity of our motors. I just wanted to gather some information specific to STIs. I'm tired of the stealerships charging me $100 to adjust tire pressures and inspect things that I can inspect myself and then leaving the oil cap on top of the engine, so I've resolved to change the oil myself in my car. Here is my application: 2006 STI in Canada, winter driven, temperatures as cold as -25 Celcius ambient, very spirited driving, including autoslaloms and the occaisional drag race. When I changed my oil at 8600 the last two changes, Blackstone Labs said to push it past 9K. I can't complain with comments like that. |
