Default Interesting Find (Engine Mounts)

So today I decided to swap out my engine mounts on the 06 STi. With the help of evilxt (Nick, certified suby tech). Well we found out that, we didnt need to swap em, because SOA must have changed em in production because of all the problems with the other rubber/plastic ones. I was gonna swap em with the Group N mounts, but no need to now. Will prolly do it down the road anyway.

Here are some pics:

And

Just thought Id share. So maybe you late 06 owners, like myself, dont have to upgrade em.

Can you take pics of where exactly these mounts are in the engine? (I'm a nub who has no clue about the internal locations of parts) I took delivery on May 6th, but I want to be sure that I don't have the plastic mounts.

To late now to. That lift isnt in my garage.

HOWEVER. If you know how to change your own oil, once you remove the cover, to get to the oil/filter the engine mounts will be starring you in the face. On the right and left side.

Ummm, I believe it was the pitch mount brace that was plastic and breaking. That is under the intercooler.

No. It was the liquid filled mounts that were breaking from the engine torque. This lead to pitch stops breaking and the underside of the hood contacting the engine and wearing through the fire blanket.

Yup, exactly. My buddy who helped me check em out said a dude had this happen at his dealer and much damage ensued. What was SOA thinking? O wait, they werent.

They were trying to please all the wussies out there that complain about the NVH in these cars. It's also the reason why the STi has gone from a pig to a really fat pig since it's introduction here.
