Default Exhaust Hanger problem

Ok. I currently have the invidia TBE (v2 catless dp + n1 racing catback). One day I noticed that my exhaust was touching the bumper... then about an inch of it melted off. I got underneath and noticed that my right exhaust hanger was hanging off. I re-installed it to fit the hole, but it wouldn't fit! it looked like there was suppose to be something there where the hanger (that rubber thing) goes on.. but maybe it was broken off?

Here are the pictures:

^notice how crooked the right one is

^Closer view.

What am I missing? I don't recall my exhaust hanger being that slanted and slammed together.. it also seems like it's not fitted right. I think there is suppose to be something on that blue tip of picture 3... Any ideas?

The pics do give the impression that something is not straight further up the car. The whole exhaust might be off. I would check everything.

I dont know what you call that thing, but theres a slot that you clamp on after the downpipe ( before the DP and the CB mate up) and also make sure that the left and right bolts are tightened up equally. Mine was crooked when I installed it but when I redid the bolts,it was straight. Is it rubbing against your bumper?

could the left one be in too far? it almost looks like the left end may be too far into the hanger, which could result in the exhaust being crooked.

It was when the right hanger was off somehow. On the picture (after i put the hanger back on), the exhaust sits about a little shorther than half an inch under the bumper. Just worried about it burning off once spring/summer hits.

Once I purchase the kartboy long exhaust hangers, I'll redo the whole thing...

yeah, the kartboy hangers are gonna fix things up nice. once those are in, the exhaust is not going to move. it looks like your exhaust may have shifted during a bump or some hard driving.

I had a hell of a time getting mine to fight with the diffuser getting in the way. I put two cobb hangers in those exact location and they havent moved ever since.

from the picture it looks as if the exhaust shifted to the left a bit. get yourself a pair of hangers (cusco, cobb, karboy) and move it over a bit to the right and you should have no issues. also if you havent trimmed your diffuser, you might want to otherwise regardless if you have hangers on or not it will push over and melt the diffuser onto your canister and piping.

i just bought an imitation dremel from costco. it was only $20 last week and it came with all types of attachments. probably not as reliable as the real deal, but for $20, i'll just buy another if it breaks

Kartboy hangers "will" fix this. I had the same EXACT problem and the hangers solved it very nice. I have the XL hangers from kb. And a nice improvement in stiffness.
