Default Idle Problem

When im driving my car and when i hit a stop light my idle goes up to like maybe 2k and then it drops back down. I dont know how come its doing this i know i hit a big pot hole but i dont think that will make my idle go up like that. Does anyone know wat can it be

Sounds like you could have a vacumn leak. I would check all the connections and hoses to make sure they are all right. I had the same problem although it only went to 1500 or so and I just reset the computer and that fixed mine though. I would try that also.

Do you have an after market BOV. Because mine use to do the same thing and I had the Greddy Type-S BOV, after converting it back to the stock BOV the problem was fixed.

I think this thread described the same issue you have. It is a normal way to ensure proper vacuum for power brake assist.
