Default Blackstone oil report results

Here are the results using Purolator Pure One oil filter, air filter, and Mobil 1 5w30. I noted on my sample that it was the 2.5L Turbo...they listed that on my analysis paper....researched other postings and their analysis just listed 2.5L with lower universal averages....weird.

With 3300 miles on the oil, report says wear reading well within the average range. All of my readings were under the universal averages, save for copper which was above average (at 19, average is 9) but not a concern at this point - since my engine was only at 12K, lingering wear-in at brass and bronze parts (oil in at about 8700 miles). Need to monitor this though.

The TBN was already down to 2.4, which was surprising to me..probably done with Mobil 1 now. Flashpoint was 380. Said air and oil filtration look fine.

So, at 15K, I will send in another oil sample for analysis to include TBN test. I will be interested to see how the Royal Purple 5w30, Pure One oil filter, and APS CAI with K&B style filter do.

At 15K, I will refill with Amsoil and use an Amsoil oil filter. I'll let the car sit until the 15K results come back and either continue to use the APS CAI or revert to the factory air filter.

Not sure what I will use at 18K. K&N filters appear to be crap...only 92% efficient according to K&N vice 98% for Pure One. Open to suggestions.

I'll send in a sample of the Civic Hybrid running Royal Purple and Pure One oil filter too

Fast return on the analysis, which was nice - just a few days.

Here's my latest report if you want to compare... I have gone to Castrol GTX synthetic blend with the last fill. No loss yet.

to be honest, I've had good results so far with a K&N. Then again, I have a short ram and not a CAI, maybe a CAI is able to pick up more dirt because of its location..

Been using the OEM black Roki filters since day one. Now that these are gone, switching to the Purolator Pure One as well. I would expect to see no changes in filtration abililty myself... which is good. I took a sample for Motul 8100 at my 30,000 mile oil change, so we'll see how it performed
