IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | So listen to my idea I just thought up: I am debating on whether or not to get the N1 racing catback exhaust, but i hear it is insanely loud. I want my exhaust to be insanely loud...only when I want it to be. What if I hooked up a pipe coming from the cutout that was then routed back into the midpipe (after the resonator or cat) which would theoretically make the exhaust a free flowing cattless exhaust? This is hard to explain in words as it is a picture in my head...ya know. so when the cutout is closed, exhaust flow would be going through the cat or resonator to muffle the noise, but when the cutout is open, exhaust gas is routed through the tube, around the cat or res, and then back into the midpipe. Am I crazy? or am I inovating? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. Last edited by GSRREP; 01-09-2006 at 08:02 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | there are minor gains in hp for bypassing the cat, and also i think this idea may reek havoc on your wastegate setup since at one point there would be some more back pressure than when its open. just my $.02 |

how is my idea any different back pressure wise than running a cutout with the stock catback? | |
