IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (2) | A 350-400whp STI can be made to drive just as smooth as stock with the right tuner. We put down 403whp/417wtq on a 3" 20g with pump fuel and meth injection and the car ran just like stock with an extra 150-170wtq kick around 3000-4000rpms . Just stay around the 4Xlb range on the turbo and you should be fine on making a setup that spools like stock with a huge gain in power .Robert~ |

| Spec C Club | Some tuned cars run better than stock. I have yet to drive Bruce monster, however, i have read that it rides better than stock. I am about to be tuned and i am shooting for 375 whp. I would not say mine is an everyday driver.. but it could be if i needed it to be. It trade on and off.. I will drive it a month straight then put it away during the week and jsut drive weekends, or i could just drive it 3 times a month. I vary a ton. I am building for reliability so that i could drive it as a daily driver. |

With more power it is feasable that you could get better gas mileage than stock. if you think about how fast your car can go stock, that is under 100% power. now if you have a upgraded turbo, you could probably use 60% power to perform the same as stock. less power used = less fuel used = better gas mileage. | |

Ecutek all the way!! Oh, the stock STi springs suck the big one!!! More bounce than a fat lady doing jumping jacks. I tend to drive quite normally 99% of the time, shifting at 3800 rpms. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (3) | I daily drive my 3" Green car. So far my experience with the Perrin BigMAF has made drivability a slight issue (turbulence). PDXTuning is fixing that as we speak. Currently, a very nice non-permanent fix has been worked in. The big "plus" that I have for daily driving (other than a damn good local tuner) is an electronic boost contoller (Apexi AVC-R in my case). The EBC seems to rescue some of the lag of the Green, and makes 2 maps available. (High boost and Daily Driver boost). I dyno'd at 370/370 awhp/tq on a Mustang dyno, but at 23-24 psi. I don't want to drive that psi every day. I run about 20-21 for everyday driving. With the EBC I see approx 10 psi at 3000 rpm and I shift at around 3500 in typical driving. I wouldnt go larger than a 3" FP green for a daily driver, personally. If we are talking about non-drivetrain things, JDM Pinks and alot of RaamMat noise-proofing made a siginificant difference in the quality of daily experience I have. A quiet exhaust would help even more, but I cant find one I feel flows well enough. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | not sure exactly but 30-32k with another 10k to go on performance &/or racing required mods. more if i do a custom fade paint job at the end. it will be, for all practical purposes a time attack car minus the sponsor decals.
