damn pantag, now I want the APS again! If I go catted I will go APS. I think the catted Cobb is a little too quiet. If I go Catless, I'll go with the Cobb. The boost creep issue is making me nervous, and if I can aviod another headache by just getting a catted exhaust, i might just go that route.

Rac,

I would say go catted to be safe. There is no noticeable power gain if you go catless, plus you are risking more with boost creep, plus it stinks! APS is a little louder that the Cobb. The sound is very important to me. I didn't want anything loud. I am very happy I went with APS because it is not loud when cruising around or when I am driving on the highway. At idle, after it warms up, the APS is more quiet compared to the stock catback. Make sure you see gixxer's video on my thread.

Thanks pantag. I used your thread a lot in making my decision. I made the 4th post on that thread stating I was going to buy the APS . Well, we'll see what happens.

There is a BIG difference between boost spike and boost creep. Every car spikes, to some extent or another, and that is perfectly fine. There is only an issue when you spike and it doesn't come back down. If you spike 1.4 bar and then it holds there and starts to creep up, thats when you hit fuel cut, throw a cell, and have a problem.

I have both the cobb catted and catless and both of them spike. I have never had any boost creep in the STi with the catless, but then again, I live in CA.

EDIT: Almost forgot, I voted catless mainly because it sounds better and costs less. I don't see a need to pay an extra $150 to tone down my exhaust note, and of course, shooting flames is always fun .

i was facing the same decision as you except it was with a helix dp. I decided to get the catted version but now that im considering doing a turbo and injector upgrade i regret getting the catted version. I thought that the ap protuned with stock turbo was going to be enough power but it was well short of my expectations. Im going to be selling my catted and purchasing a non-catted in march when i do my upgrade.

Here is my decision as of now:
If I go catless, I am going to get the Cobb TBE
If I go catted, I am going to get the APS

The growl of the Cobb Catless is beautiful though...damn choices!

I see you are at GW. I actually work right around the corner from you, if you ever want to hear what a catted APS sounds like just let me know.

Boost, I would love to come hear your car. That may seal the deal for me. I'll send you a PM.
