IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | What material, like foam of some kind of sponge, are those of you with catch cans using to separate the oil from the vapor entering the can? Do you fill the can with the condensing material? Put it the bottom of the can, somehow wedge it in at the top of the can? Why don't catch can manufacturers put something in there? IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | I took an old shop wrag and put it in the bottom, and then I cut some sponges to fit and put them all the way to the top. I imagine if you don't have anything in there to catch the oil / condesation in the can, it will bypass and go right into the other hose leading back to intake. I'm not sure why manufactures don't include any type of filter media, but I do know that some times people like to use catch cans for other things (overflow from radiator).
