not so much. the typhoon makes any car feel slower in hot weather because it is sucking hot air from under the hood. which is why I went with the APS CAI. both the typhoon and aps are designed to maintain stock maf readings.

ok it's been posted up many times, that a typoon will make a Cobb Stage 2 (which i'm running) car slower. i'm not looking to slow my car down. the cobb intake has fins in it, to straighten the air before the MAF. most intakes create turbulence before the MAF, which is not good.

does anyone have first hand experience with the Cobb intake ?

don't ask a question if you aren't going to like the answer. If you want to waste $180 by all means go for it.

You tell 'em Bruce!

BTW, where can I download Cobb AP stage 2 maps that are customized to the typhoon? Does it even exist? The download section of Cobb's site has very general maps. I don't have the AP yet, but am looking to get one soon, is it even worth the 645.00?

I’m not trying to be a dick, but why have many people posted up that the typhoon leans the car out with an AP, or intakes have made their AP cars loose power. I just want to get the best intake for my car. I don't want to run into any issues with fuel.

edit: so am i safe to run a CAI or a typhoon ? i just don't want to see any drop in power (i want a increase)

i promise you will have zero issues with fuel and you will gain power after 6k rpm. besides, leaning will generally produce a gain in power not a loss, so your operating premise is awry. typhoon gains you power, but not due to leaning. as nhulhr (one of the real experts in here that you should trust ) would tell you, "it's the perfect emulation of the stock box". he posted the original data logging results a few months after typhoon was released. i consulted him before i bought one of the first typhoons and i've used it with great success, including northeast summers, with cobb ap stages 1&2. i'm not criticizing your search habits, just who you are choosing to listen to.

the only legitimate problem that i've seen with typhoon is heat soak. the heat shield that comes with the kit is adequate for all but the most extreme summer conditions. if you live in az or similarly hot location in the summer, you should definately have a cai.

I love my APS CAI. With stage 2.

No real overboost problems since days 1&2. And that is with 500+ highway miles in 5&6 and 1 very high speed run.
