Default Dyno Graph High Altitude HP...

I recently moved from San Jose to Colorado Springs, and found that my STi didn't like the high altitude with my combo...mainly the CAI. I kept getting the P0177 error code during WOT. So I took it to the local all wheel dyno shop (logic Imports), and had Chris tune and update my Access Port.

Dyno chart:

http://www.rockbottomspas.com/STi%20...%20resized.jpg

While I miss the hp lost at this altitude, I'm still impressed that the motor is making as much hp as it is at 6,000 ft altitude. 285 AWHP and 320 lb/ft torque

Power mods: APS 3" TBE with high flow cat, APS CAI, Gruppe-S headers, no-name larger TMIC, Access Port.

Logic Imports corrected the lean condition, and added 20 hp over the baseline run.

Next spring: SR40 or SR55 (?) turbo, injectors, FP...looking for 350 AWHP at 6K feet elevation.

Logic Imports is the guy I'm going to use for my ProTune... looks like a nice curve there.

I was comparing my dyno chart to this one: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/attachme...7&d=1131689547 from this thread: APS SR55 DynoComp "Viper Killer" And like that the max torque on mine is at 3750 rpms, vs 5800 rpms with the other guy. In fact, he's only making 182 lb/ft torque at 3750 rpm (only 57%)... And while he's making good peak hp (367), it's way high on the rpm curve, and his max torque is only 10 more (330 lb/ft vs 320 lb/ft) than mine...with a stock turbo. I'm not knocking his step up...I know it's to be expected, and I'm looking to upgrade my turbo soon too...but I'm not happy about loosing so much low-end power. I think I may go with an SR40 turbo...I want to retain as much low end torque as possible.

What gears were your pulls in? My Tq peaks at 3600 RPMs in third gear (325 ft lbs) per my 3rd gear pulls at Topspeed. I also had some pulls localy in 4th gear and the max hp and max tq occur at the stock rpms. So, it depends on what gear your pulls were in. Your graph leads me to believe yours were in third.

Actually, they were all in 4th. So you're saying I might have seen a little more power in 3rd...huh.

Well, I was told that one will always see more and more torque as the gear ratios lower. Afterall, that's why we have gears, right? ....more torque there.

I'm pretty sure those numbers are corrected for altitude, basically that's what you should make at sea level under optimum conditions. I highly doubt you are making those numbers up here at 6000', sorry .

I've got a message into Chris at Logic Imports...I would like to know if it's corrected. I'll update when I hear.

Depends on the dyno, but you're probably right.

Hey guys. I'm about to move to Golden. What's the word on good local tuners? I've got a UTEC and will probably flatbed the car out to avoid any issues, but would like to get a 91 map happening......damnit. TIA for any help!

I just spoke with the guy who tuned my car, and you are correct...there is a 15% multiplication factored into the numbers. That makes sense...and I'm still pleased.

Considering a stock STi makes 300 lb/ft of torque at the crank...which is maybe 240 at the wheels (depending on the dyno, of course), 320 at the wheels with mine = about 400 lb/ft at the crank, i.e., 100 lb/ft more torque than stock...no complaints there.
