Oh yeah, I also want to retain stock boost (or as close as possible with the COBB AP Protuned (thinking about HarmonMotive, heard great things, only it's about 6 hours away. More time to enjoy my car there and back though I suppose. )
Thanks. GREAT SITE!!! Very helpful people and haven't seen any dip$**ts that mess everything up for everyone...yet.

Here's my new list...tell me what you guys think. Is it better than my previous? Also, does anyone whether or not I will need a new turbo inlet pipe with the SZ55? Thanks!

First, you have to figure out what you want to accomplish.

Then, do yourself a favor by researching tuners. Start here:http://www.iwsti.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=137 Settle on one, call 'em up, tell 'em what your goals are, and let them put together an entire package (including installation) for you. You have a lot of parts here, some of which do not work together, some of which you don't need, as well as others that are missing, and a tuner will be able to guide you through the whole complex process, not to mention save you quite a bit of money from the looks of what you want to accomplish.

In order: goals first, tuner second, parts third.

Thanks, but would you mind telling me what parts won't work together? I REALLY do not want to mess this up, but I have also dealt with shady dealers/tuners in the past and that's my reason for asking on this site. No bias and no need to "sell". Thanks again. I'll try that link.

youll NEVER get the performance from the TMIC that the sr55 needs....

no way the timing will be able to be agressive enough....

ese

source: APS, peter, david: MASTRO (personal flops)

NTM, APS states their TMIC is NOT designed or rated for the usdm STI.....

now, will it work with a smaller (better?) turbo?

ese

ps- define as per flycaster first; avoid costly lists like this - they lead to alot of heartache, bro..

Ya, +1 to all the aboce. If you are looking to go beyond your typical cobb stage 1 and stage 2 set ups then get yourself to a dedicates tuner with experience tuning subies. A tuner will know the best ways to spend your money and will have the experience to put it together right so that you do not blow up your baby. Take it from a guy who blew up a small block v-8, you dont want to do this wrong.

We would recommend a FMIC (rated@500+hp) with the SR55. If you don't mind me asking; what are the climates at your location.

Your wheel choice seem to be narrower than stock wheels (7.5 vs. stock's 8) any reason for this. We would recommend stay at the stock 8in or go to a 8.5 inch.

Also just so you know that the STi short throw shifter assembly reduces the shifter gate travel by a good amount (I don't have the exact figure in front of me right now); however, the actual shifter will not sit much lower than stock if you are going for the small shifter look. You may want to also consider a kartboy short shifter as well. I personally have the STi short shift kit along with the kartboy shifter/bushings; and I like this combo.

Best of luck.

Well, I'm about 45min north of Sacramento so whatever the climate is here, i'm not too sure. I've heard that the FMIC is good if you are going for 450-500hp/whp (not sure), but that the TMIC would be okay for maybe up to 400. I live in California and I'm not sure if changing to a FMIC will be legal because it's too obvious. I figured that a TMIC would be a little more low key and not too obvious that it isn't stock just by looking at it. oh and I've decided to go with a Deadbolt SZ55. I did some research and wound up at Harman Motive's site. The SZ55 seems to make more hp at a lower psi than the SR55. I'm not trying to go too crazy with it but I would like up to 360-380whp.

About the wheels; I have an 04 and i read somewhere on here that the stock wheels on the 04's are 17x7.5 and the 05's are 17x8. Any validity on that? I would love to go 18x8 with maybe some 235/40-18 tires.

I was hoping for that response for the STi short shifter with the Kartboy and WHiteline bushings.

Thanks again everyone.

Yes, I have done A LOT of reading lately on this site. A LOT of useful info. My list has changed somewhat now. Well, mainly the turbo (DB SZ55 instead of APS SR55). Thanks for your advise though.

It doesn't fit?! Damn- thanks for the info! I still would like to go with a TMIC though. I've been waiting for the Cobb TMIC to come out. Maybe even the ESX one. I'm gonna make sure on fitment now though. Thanks again!

I hear ya! Used to be into those lil' Hondas that make a bout 3-10hp for $200-$1000+. Plus they could never get the power to the ground so it was all just a waste of money for my purpose for it which was just a fast street car. Kinda hard to go fast when you're just smoking tires all the way through 3rd gear. Wasted too much money with Hondas. Gotten a lot wiser though that's why I joined, to gain knowledge from other people/tuners and get the appropriate approach. It's a lot more helpful here than at most (if not all) of the honda sites. Thanks again.

Big compromise? You didn't have to bang on anything to get it to fit did you? How well does the SR55 work for you as far as lag and top end? Damn, if only someone knew whether or not it is illegal to change to a front mount here in CA. Guess I'll just wait to see how the Cobb unit is (whenever THAT comes out). Thanks!

do some research before dropping that much money on the SR55... you may find its performance doesnt suit your needs

i'd lose the sr55 and the top mount. if youre going to spend money on a clutch, do an act or rps. i don't see sways on your list. aside from the pinks you could lose the balance of sti parts from your suspension list and had hardened tops to it. let your tuner decide on injectors; some don't like pe's. good luck and be patient.
