Agreed. However I had just switched mine and had to get on it for entering a highway from a side road. Eased around corner in first switched to second and proceded to burn the gunk of the tires all the way to redline. Third was fine.

Now I have to deal with the squishy sidewalls, flexable tread blocks, and bits of ice on the road. Spinning is fairly easy when you forget the grip level.

Default Rented a new mustang and peeled out

Wow.. I can easily break the traction of the cheap-hard-compound-high-sidewall tires in the v6 model with an automatic transmission and traction control ON... Hmm...

So funny today. A lady pulls up to me in a new mustang, looks over and says, "Nice car!" I'm like, "It's just a rental." She says "Mine's just an owner. 'wink' " I said "This thing is way too slow for me" lol... then I told her what I really drive.. And she actually knew what it was..

Then she peeled out.. ROFL

Breaking traction / losing traction / peeling out can be done in stock form under a hard launch. Rev the motor, drop the clutch and you will squeel for a quick second, but thats about it.

Yep, did this once. My drivetrain then told me that it would be breaking up with me if I did it again, so I haven't.

The last car I had was a Mustang which could peel out relatively easily because it was RWD. AWD seems like it would take a WHOLE LOT more hp to burn out.
But how much?

Maybe do it this way...
If you can peel out during a standing start, post your latest dyno result or a list of mods or whatever.
Sorry, I missed this post when it was in it's prime......

What you need is this

just for you info, to "peel out" or burn out, it takes torque, not so much horsepower.

hey this thread bring back good memories. When i was 15 one of my good friends and I used to go to my grandmas house because she had a pool. And they would go to sleep pretty early so i would take the keys to the minivan and whip that around the neighborhood I still have a vivid picture in my mind of my revving it all the way up in nuetral, and then just dumping it into drive, and doing atleast a 20 foot burnout. Anyone know a site that hosts videos where i could post it up???????

Default STi Burnouts (read first, then decide if i am in the wrong area)

I am not sure if this is in the right place or not, and if it isn't, i apologize.

Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to do a burnout in an 2005 STi. I know that when the E-brake is pulled, it disengages the rear dif. So, in theory, you would (should) be able to do a FWD burnout in these cars with the e-brake enganged. I have not tried it yet, as i am a wuss and do not feel like buying a new drivetrain for my car.

Anyway, any input would be nice. I may be way off base here, and if so, let the flaming ensue. doesnt bother me a bit! haha
