Default 60ft patch of rubber!

I rented a Chevy Cobalt today because I wanted to "peel out" without killing my car...

(*Actually, mine is in the shop getting some free work done.

My rental is a FWD with EXTREMELY cheap tires on it.. I was able to sustain a peel in first gear all the way through an intersection and then some...

Ways to do this..

Neutral drop = bad
Floor it, hit e-brake
If it's wet out, keep the gas down..

Trouble was, car kept cutting fuel if it spun and rpm was over 4000 for too long.. I prob could have gone farther.

In my STI.. Well, I can break traction quite regularly for 1/2 a second or less from a 4k launch, and I often chirp 2nd with the potenzas.. However, since getting my PZero's Siped, I can't break traction in 2nd, and it's very, very difficult in 1st now. I love it! Traction = quick launch baby!!

Oh man, that's great. Prolly = probably. It's just "slang" if not ebonics but it's also internet lingo just as StevenH said.

I lost traction taking turns a little too hard before. Fun times if done in a safe environment and not excessively.

have a blast a night in the rain. no one around, making a left. just pretend there isn't and water on the ground, get to revs appropriate for shift to second by the apex of the turn, but stay in first. anti-blip (foot off, then back on again) then turn as you come back on gas, this will unsettle the car and it will turn sideways. throttle control and straighten out

advice--do it where there is a lot of open space (i do it when entering an empty four lane street)

also, dont try is when the light is green, just do it from a stand still; i lost too much traction and did a double "drift"--it is definately NOT what you want to happen.

Ability to peeloout increase with:
increase in low/mid torque
increase in clutch strength
increase in tire hardness
increase in surface smoothness
decrease in combined tire contact patch
decrease in weight
decrease in gear
lack throttle-based of traction control
and other stuff

My clutch is too shot to even think about peeling out.

I have done similar and though the noise my passenger makes usually is louder than the car, I have to admit, it's not something to do often. On a hot asphalt day with 75% worn tires (at an autoX) I got all four to spin pretty easily. The DCCD was in auto and all I did was rev and dump. tore an additional 1000 miles off of the tires, but nothing can catch that off the line. My father, who has a 930, said the acceleration was breathtaking.

when its wet out, i break loose if i punch it in first. i spin second too. i think breaking loose is a hell of a lot cooler than just spinning the tires when you shift. your like...holy crap.

It gets real easy to peel out when you simultaneously switch to winter tires and the temperature drops to 20 °F. I've been doing it by accident for the last week (~stage 2 BTW).

So damn used to RE070 warm weather traction...
