Talking Externally wastegated FP Red!!!

Hi All. I just got my car back from getting "a little" work done on my 2004 STi. I went through a lot with this car, I went to one shop (who will remain nameless) and when they put on my FP green, they totally screwed up the job.....hoses were left off, clips broken, and the car was not running right (I have pictures of all the screw ups). So, I decided to car my car to Automaster of Westchester. I've heard good things about them, and the quality of their work speaks for itself.

I left my car with Rob, and I had him fix everything this other shop had broken or messed up....along with a few other items. To say the least Rob and his team did a FANTASTIC job...the car looks, sounds and drives amazing!!! I will have pictures uploaded by Monday.

While my car was at Automaster of Westchester, I had Rob install:
FP Red turbo with an external wastegate
EcuTec reflash
GT Spec Headers and uppipe
Automaster of Westchester TGV deletes with Race port and polish
Automaster of Westchester breather system
1 step colder plugs

With this setup he made 388 whp and 368 wtq at 19 psi on a dynodynamics dyno.....on a REALLY conservitive tune......with an aggressive tune, he will make easy +400WHP on his dyno.

In addition, while my car was there, he polished the turbo housing and intercooler pipes, so that the engine bay would look spotless.....and it does!!

Pictures will come soon...

Rob at Automaster is great to deal with (customer service is spectacular)...he's very knowledgeable and the work they do over there it second to none!!! Thank you so much Rob!!!

This is on pump 93 octane. Yes, their dyno reads a little low....on certain dyno's I would be well into the 400whp range. I had the accessport, but I wanted to go with the ecutek reflash because of certain things it has over the accessport. Don't worry Rob can give you an ultra conservitive tune like mine, or an ultra aggressive tune like his car....either way you'll he happy.

did they say that the ecutek would perform better than the AP.. i got the AP because of the map switching capabilities for pump gas and race gas.. what does the ecutek have that out performs the AP?

I assume you're talking about an ECUTek reflash vs. a custom Protuner map? If so, what are the "certain things?"

man this EM crap is getting annoying... first i had utec, threw it on ebay now i have Accessport.. are you guys thinking that the AP/protune is not sufficient enough for high horsepower applications? that will break my heart.. but tims car from pdx is using the accessport in his fpred 500+awhp car..

Not me. PDX tuned up a GT30R for me and I'm making just about the same power as the poster, and the car runs great. FWIW, they said that other than display and data entry, the two systems were more or less identical so I'm curious as to what his tuner thinks the "certain things" are. Moreover, based on my results and those of a lot of others, I can't imagine they are too critical.

The additional money he had to spend for the ECUTek license at their shop was not an "incidental" expense, and I'm really curious what the justification was/is.
