Does anyone know anything about this? Good, bad, better than the Perrin EBCS?

it looks to be almost exactly the GM solenoid. IN fact I am fairly sure its the same part.

Why would you pay $99 when you could pay less than 30??
I guess if you are afraid of wiring it yourself or just dont want to.

Here is where I am a hypocrit.
I am SO freaking lazy, I am actually considering buying it just so I dont have to screw with wiring.. Actually, thats not it. I dont want to wire something in and make it a "detectable" modifiaction.

I want to be able to go 100% back to stock if I need/want to, including no cuts in the harness.

So in that aspect, this is killer. But I have a tough time swallowing the extra cost just for that little harnes...

well apparently this comes stock on the WR1 so it must be a pretty good piece. I think I'll order one up, this project is already so far beyond what I wanted to spend, what's another $70 for a little peace of mind?

I myself will pay the $70 just for the plug and playness of the harness

Plus the Prodrive name, which always adds cost.

Well I just ordered one (only the best for my baby ). I talked to my tuner, Hill at Agile Automotive and he recommended some sort of boost solenoid so I went with the prodrive because it is so easy to install, and I'm hoping easier to tune for than the Perrin. So far, the parts I have on the way for my setup are:

APS Header
APS CAI
Perrin Boost Solenoid
Walbro 255

and I already have a 3" APS TBE and Accessport. I'll be posting results and dyno plots as soon as I install everything and get it Protuned. My tuner also advised AGAINST a wastegate helper spring, as he didn't think it was safe. He said although I could hold a little more boost up top, if the car were to go into limp mode it wouldn't be able to regulate boost and it would run VERY lean, to the point of possibly causing major damage. He thought the right way to do this would be to use an EBC, although the stock turbo is so weak up top it's not really worth it, so the Prodrive solenoid will do.
