| Professional STI Driver | From what I've read, though the GT35R makes more power, it is also difficult to keep the boost up between shifts, that is why it seems the FP Reds perform better at the track without the need for Nitrous to keep the turbo spooled. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (14) | The GT35R is definitely a 10 second turbo for the STI. The response is actually better than the red due to the ball bearing design. A lot of the poor response between shifts that we are seeing is actually due to either a mismatch of components (turbo kit & head work) and/or a bit of improper tuning. Translated it often means that the turbo is sometimes larger than optimal for the car. ![]() Cheers, Gary Gruppe-S |

| Professional STI Driver | you dont think if the red was pushed to its limits that it would be able to break into the tens?? im talking about a built block and all supporting hardware?? all the reds done around are done on stock or close to stock block.. pdx got 5xx hp on the thiers with pistons at a low psi.. im wondering what kind of numbers the red would produce with more boost then what it has been tested at.. then again the gt35r would be better with the same mods.. but still for the price--- |

| Professional STI Racer | You still can't complain about the red.......look at its powerband, all the usable power!!!!!!!!! I know the GT35R is an amazing turbo.....look at the results. I am still amazed with my RED, and wouldn't go with a different setup. It all comes down to what kind of car you want. I don't drag race, so the red is the perfect street turbo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (14) | On our dyno 500whp will run 10's... Easily I can't speak for other dynos as dyno number are all relative, I can say I have not seen many 500+whp cars being able to backup their dyno numbers with timeslips. As for running 10's with an FP Red, I think it will be exceptionally difficult given the stock chassis. For the GT35R because of the size of this turbo, it is virtually impossible to mount it in the stock location, so you'll have to look for one of the rotated kits. Also if you're shooting for 10's, make sure you're getting at least a 44mm wastegate. ![]() Cheers, Gary Gruppe-S |
