IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Ordered the SPT exhaust from Richard Lucas Subaru in Avenel, NJ and had them install it. My impressions after a week: absolutely amazing. It's just the right tone and decibel level. The exhaust note is much deeper than stock, yet with the windows up it doesn't make the car unnecessarily noisy, for example, when we go skiing and are in the car for 7+ hours, too loud an exhaust would have been a PITA. A couple of people have already commented on how the car sounds awesome. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Which one of the two axlebacks did you get? Is it the one with the big@ss muffler about the same size as stock or prodrive, or is it the skinny canister about the size of the genome axleback? |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | OK, I'll get some sound and vid clips this weekend (I leave for work while it's still dark and get home way after sunset, so I'll wait for the weekend to get some good shots). I did some research on it and there are numerous sources which say that the SPT is the bosal with a single tip. The muffler is the same size as stock and the only visual difference is that the tip is highly polished versus the flatter finish on the stock. I paid 143.10 for the install and about 525 after shipping for the part so about 670 bucks to get it on my car. I'm positive you can get it cheaper but I wanted to stay local and have the dealer do the work. Hope this helps. |

| STI Driver | I also have the SPT (yes it's the same as the Bosal single tip). At first I thought it was really loud, but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes I wish it was a little louder now, but if it were much louder, it would get annoying. It's one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts, but it does give you a nice deep rumble, which is really all I was looking for. |
