Default Best Intake for Hot Conditions???

I am looking into purchasing an intake and am not too familiar with how it all works...I currently live in Palm Springs, which for those of you who dont know is in the desert where in the summer it reaches tempatures at 120 plus. Now, would the short ram K&N Typhoon be more appropiate for me than say the APS intake? I am also going to be installing a TBE. Thanks for any input.

Yes, CAIs are better than short rams. Any CAI: APS, Injen, etc

A good rule of thumb for intakes is to get the air filter out of the engine compartment. If you leave it sit inside, the filter gets hotter which makes the air going into the engine hotter which is bad. I am running an APS CAI that runs through to the fender. The colder the air going into the engine the more power you can make. Hope this helps.

I am personally very happy with the Injen LE CAI.

I personally prefer the stock airbox, perhaps with a K&N panel filter and silencer delete, but if you must have an intake, the APS CAI seems to be a good bet.

Injen or APS CAI will do the trick for you. Those two seem to perform the best.

it is correct that the only Front mount that allows a CAI is the APS? or no?

you may need to watch out for that.. it has to fit with your other mods..thats where im stuck right now.. and is there anyway to make the perrin big maf into a CAI?

when i installed my cai is was fine for about a week then i started to notice a creek from the from, the cai pipe that slides into the fender well was to tight. when it got warm and expanded it wedged itself and when reving started to squeek. the best fix i found was to take a dremel and open up the hole a little bit so it would not hit.
