Default FP Green or Red?

Considering they are the same price, can anyone give me some more info about these two turbo's?

Ive seen all the green dyno's at and or around 350whp with 93' gas... How is the red going to fit in here??

Also, on the FP web site, they say they make these turbo's with a 3' inlet, verse the normal 2.XX.... any info on which is better and why?

Any information is welcomed.

Thanks guys...

Well bigger inlet means its better at sucking in more air to be compressed. There's been has been a few recent threads popping up on the green and red. So you might wanna scroll down and take a look at those. And you should try to do a search because it does wonders in helping you out with this information.

On a side note... what do you want the turbo for? Your goal WHP? Daily driving? Drag? etc... we'd be able to help you out a lot more if we knew what you wanted the turbo for.

Both are great....Just depends on what you want the car to be used for (like TEKIZERO stated). I personally run the "RED" and absolutley love it!!!!

Got a fp green with 38mm internal gate (deadbolt modified) soon for sale in about 3-5 weeks, so let me know if you're interested in going this route. SS oil lines and rubber for coolant lines will be included also. No need to go external on this one.

I used the search for this topic, and I use it for all my questions, thats why your not familar with me, I usually dont need to post to get my ?'s answered!

The goal is to have a well rounded street car, with road coarse power around 350+/-... I know the green to make that kind of power... But the red is said to have the same ability as the green, but when the green drops off the re keeps going...

Any other info to consider, they are the same price... I am going to need an intenal wastegate because I dont want to modify the dp on my car....

So, the goal, 350 ahwp, with good torque....

any other input?

Adam

the green offers quicker spool and a drop-in fitment. it works very well with the stock engine and internals and is a very nice upgrade. 320-360 whp is typically what most green owners are achieving.

the red will offer much more power on the top end at the expense of more lag and slower spool up down below. the turbo itself is larger than the green and is a tight fit on the 2.5L motor. tgv deletes are necessary for proper fitment. The red is good for 380+ whp on pump gas and many run it on built motors. and, like someone said above, it requires a 3" inlet hose, ie, perrin.

do a search on here and nasioc and you'll find dyno plots that will further detail the differences between the two.

I still don't know why fp doesn't say more than "you're not worthy" in the Red's description on their website.

oh, and the part about the green dropping off? Not.

That is a great post... Thanks a ton!

I plan to make the purchase from PDX tuning, mainly because Jarred is headed to texas for a tuning session soon which would allow him to tune setup!

The PDX kit requires a perrin inlet tube, so I gather they are using the 3' inlet. They also require the perrin big maf, so all points to the green having the 3' inlet....

How does the green compare to the SZ49??

The FP web site states they can make the green with the 3' inlet.... that and the pdx web site states you need the perrin inlet for the 3' conversion...

Either way, give me 350 hp!

Smile FP Red

I shipped my car to Portland from Alaska and am having Jarrad @ PDXTunning dyno it this week. I have a superzilla and am looking for good power. I believe the FP Red spools a few hundred RPM higher which is not what I am looking for. As you know Jarrad can provide you with other customers dyno charts.
