Default Help me!!! :-(

I want about 370-380 whp. I'd like to stay under 400 whp in order to keep reliability and engine long life. I don't want a FMIC. I'd like to stay with the stock top mount or upgrade it to let's say a spearco top mount. With that, fuel pump and new injectors and a tune obviously, what turbo can I get my desired output on 91 octane pump gas?

Stillwill put out 375whp with the SZ55 turbo on 91 octane. You might want to look into that.

I was looking into a SZ49 but was told on 91 octane the best you can get is about 335 whp with stock IC. In order to get 370 I'd need alcohol injection and word on the streets is that the smc electronics have been known to fail and well if that happens, you can kiss your ass goodbye.

So I want to keep it simple. I found an APS TMIC which I would consider. If I could get 370ish whp with a 20G and an APS TMIC, that would be ideal.

I'd stop looking to bandaid it and run higher octane. Find a 100 octane station or use an additive like Torco Accelerator to up your octane to 95 or so for safety. Note that Torco Accelerator, although they claim it's safe for catalytic converters and O2 sensors has not been proven so in street vehicles much.

I have about 5k miles on Torco in my turbo Miata running 10lbs boost with 10:1 compression and no knock at all. It works even better than the Aquamist 2c I was using before.

For a proper water/alky injection system you need a feedback loop to the ECU so that it can cut boost when flow is cut, otherwise you're taking your chances. You really need a plug-in, external standalone or parallel ECU for this.

I don't want to have to go to specific gas stations. Can the auqumist systems handle pure alcohol? I was looking at they're systems and they have some good saftey features installed. I have to have it set up that if the alcohol fails, the ecu cuts boost immediately.

I also have a curious mind when it comes to this topic.

I have a cobb ap, cobb dp, cobb cat back and turbo shield.. considering a sz49, injectors and fuel pump with a tune! Thinking keeping the top mount makes for better response, but poor effiency.... maybe a bigger top mount will help, but with the small inlet to the top mount, how efficent a larger core tmic is debatable....

on 91 octane, an SZ55 is probably your best option to make that kind of power. Ideally, you should use an FMIC but if you must use a top mount, definitely upgrade it. I believe the Spearco has the thickest core available.

TDO6h-20g

OR BETTER SPOOL (LESSER TOP) = TDO6h-18g

is there a super18??

the 20G will work well on the tmic setup. give it a go!!

(the 49 is such a top breather that id never tryit on a tmic setup...)

ese

ps- the spearco is a supersized heatsink.....

Go with a 20g, TMIC and external wastegate. You should be able to hit ~370whp and have great spool with that setup.
