IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | I just ordered my Perrin Short Ram Intake (Red), from JSC Speed. I researched alot, and found that they (Perrin) are the best for this application because of the extensive research they put in where and how the MAF is positioned. Now, my question is, WHO HAS IT? You like it? Any big difference? I will post before and after pictures of it when I install it. Let me know your comments! This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Lurker | I bought it together with the Perrin FMIC. I don't like it, the combination surges as hell (in 3500-5000rpm) If you don't have need for a short ram (TMIC), use the stock airfilter. The Perrin ram is (like alot others) an oiled filter, which can cause problems with the Maf sensor. Also a short ram gets its air from within the heated engine compartment which is not what you want with a turbo engine. Momentarily I am looking for a way to solve the surge and after to make some sort of heatbarrier. Take care Barry (The Netherlands) |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | I got my Perrin Short Ram today! Being that I ordered it yesterday......yah and paid standard ground shipping...GO JSC SPEED! (JSCSpeed.com) Installation was a piece of cake. The silicone piping was a bit of a PITA to get on, but a lil pressure, and it came right on. I would say the installation took about 15-20 mins total. Driving is now alot more fun! Hearing the spool up of the turbo and the stock BOV really opened up. I do feel better throttle response, and better spool up than I did with the stock setup. Do feel a lil more kick in the power range. All in all, I am very pleased in the intake, and love it, I will try and take some pics of it tomorrow, just incase anyone was curious on how it looks. Later.... |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | Thats the Normal one, not the Big MAF one! It runs great, better than it did before the GP MOTO elbow delete. CAI are nice, but I wanted to be safe, and plus Perrin makes an extended pipe that you can buy whenever to make this sucker a CAI. So, I always got that option, which eventually I will buy....not any time soon. I am thinking about the turbo inlet pipe, you guys know anything about them? Worth the money? They make an extra Hp? Just an idea.... |

| Professional STI Racer | Log your dynamic advance stock and with the perrin filter. I put the perrin on an 05 Sti and the DA went negitive under load. That was just one car though and each car reacts differently to an intake. TMS This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
