IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Well, i thought i was in the clear since after my DP install i didnt throw any engine codes, but a few days later, one showed up. I was driving on the highway and then the cruise started to flash and the check engine light went on. So i got home, turned off the car, and plugged in the AP. Got the code: p0420 - which is soemthing about the CAT, and obviously i dont have one so im not surpirsed i threw it. I went ahead and cleared the code but it comes back now and then. Should i A) Order the Helix High Flow Catted DP and sell the Invidia or B) Get a Mechanical CELL Fix. I'm also eating a crap load of gas, i fill up like every 2 days, and the smell the i used too love is kinda getting too me. Im not sure want i want to do at this point. -Foo This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| sponge worthy | you shouldn't be throwing that code if you are using the ap assuming you are running one of the newer versoin maps. what map are you running? getting a catted downpipe won't neccesarly keep you from getting the p0420 cel, i have a catted aps tbe and got the code before i flased my ecu with the ap. after i flashed the stage2 93oct. ver1.05 i havent got any cel's since. if you will look in the map notes of a stage 2 map at least the newer versions you will find this: Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I get the same P0420 CEL. I'm using the real-time version of stage 2 93oct, not the base map. Maybe flashing the stage 2 will fix it. I just haven't tried it yet. My mpg is actually pretty good. I think it's even better than stock, or at least just as good. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Ok, a few things to point out. 1. When the AP loads it says its version 1.0 - So how do i upgarde to 1.05 2. My base map is stage1, 93 and the realtime is stage 2 - should i revert back to stock and flash stage 2 as a base map or is their a way to flash it w/o reverting? 3. Im not sure on my mpg but it sucks. I think as soon as i upgrade the ap, and flash the stage 2 as a base map, we might be in the clear. Thanks for all the help so far, i might actually end up keeping this downpipe after all. -Foo |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | If you do have to end up having issues with throwing more codes, whoch I highly doubt when you reflash to stage 2, however teh mechanical fix is easly bought at your local autoparts store. Should run you less than $5 and about 30 mins to install. I would definatly try that option before removing the dp. |

This will need to be modified by drilling a 1/2" hole through one so that the O2 sensor won't bottom out. With both pieces screwed together, the length is around 2". These are the 18mm tapered part, but there is also a 18mm flat These can be purchased from any autoparts house, like Kragen, Pepboys,Napa, etc. Napa part# 730-2442 18mm longw/gasket spark plugnon-fouler

2. I don't think you have to revert back to stock, I think all you do is plug in the AP and then chose change base map. I could be wrong on that. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
