Lightbulb greddy EVO versus greddy SP2.. (help me decide!)

brothers sti:::

im now switching my focus to the catback section of my exhaust, and in keeping with the quiet theme, i am now reviewing the greddy options.

or..............

i MUST HAVE a large tip, 4" or greater (sorry, i know, ima ricer), as it fills the cutout nicely.

i MUST have the quieter system of the 2, and like them both equalyy for looks.

i MUST avoid a bumper burner, if one of these is know to burn the bumperskin some...

i MUST have a straight exit tip, as the new diffuser will need trimming if i go angled tip (not looking to do this!)

please let me know whatcha think...

much thanks for much help!

My brother chose between those two and went with the EVO2. Its hasn't arrived yet, but when it does I'll let ya know how it sounds. From the clips I've heard I would run that exhaust if I wanted something that was in any way quieter than the Perrin.

Evo2!!! haha

We do have similar tastes hehe, I thought my bro would really like that one. Honestly, from a looks standpoint I like the slash tip on the EVO2 as opposed to the more rounded softer look....looks more aggressive than the other one. Just be careful polishing it, Ive sliced my knuckles on the Perrin slash tips haha. They look so clean though.

You know the quality will be great on either. I also like the fact that the are some guys with big hp setups(Kingpin has one with a GT35R customer with the EVO2) that runs this catback...so it should flow really well.

For sound, Ive only heard the EVO2, its moderate in volume, but the rumble sounds QUALITY. I was expecting silence and too much engine noise but you really get the aftermarket sound. Just not as loud as others. Check out Mauromotorsports for video clips on that exhaust. Sounds great!

OKAY.........

final change of plans here.....

im locked into the turboXS catted TBE for my exhaust choice. i will have the best d/p on the market (some claim), and there's no fitment issues to be concerned with either. also, i get it all from staticX and i get it sooner than later.......

so, bottom line, this thread is done (for my purposes).

mods please delete/close this???

thanks again (jg especially) for the help!

Thats a great D/P and nice sounding catback. As a heads up, watch out for your bumper, TXS muffler/tips are notorious bumper burners.
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop...oducts_id/1693 (damn thats not cheap)
Awesome sounding catback. Burnin4 (Austin) runs that TB and it sounds very nice and reasonable cruising around; stomp on the gas on it really growls.

ESE----

Lucky for you, I have heard ALL of the exhausts mentioned in person.

My friend has the TurboXS catted TBE with the standard TXS axleback muffler and it sounds just as loud as a STi I heard with a Helix catted DP and a Greddy Evo2 catback.

From what I have heard in person, the Greddy SP2 is quieter than both of the exhaust systems previously mentioned. I heard an SP2 on a car running a catless downpipe, and it was quieter than the two cars above.

As I said in a previous thread, I will be getting an SP2 for my car VERY soon so I will be sure to post up some pics and videos.

Another place to get the CF heat shield:

http://bulletproofautomotive.com/cat...il.php?ID=3593

I ordered mine from there a few days ago and we'll see how it goes - I hope that site lives up to their comments from the S2000 community. It was only $109.75 shipped.

I just got a call tonight matter of fact. Ben from Bullettproof told me that most likely it would only take about a month to get it since they order so many of them. There were 9 in front of me so I'll prolly get one on this crate. May want to check into it fast and make sure you specify the year of your STi in your order comments.

The SP2 is full stainless but the old SP is not. so both of the EVO2 and SP2 is full stainless now.
