Default Want stock like driveability- Mods?

After modding my old WRX, I don't want to make the same mistakes. Car was fast, but loud and uncomfortable to drive daily. How does this sound. Perrin EBCS, Stromung DP (want to keep 2nd factory cat), Perrin crank pulley, Walbro FP, FPR modded to 53 psi and custom tune at 18 psi.

I think this will give alittle better exhaust flow and spool without being loud, better spool and boost control from the EBCS, rev alittle faster with the pulley and the FP and FPR mod to give alittle head room on the fuel side with the higher boost.

Anyone with a similar setup? What kind of power increase do you think I'll see?

Other than that, I'm getting Braille battery, JDM bumperbeam, CF driveshaft, lighter rotors fr and rr, Spec-C trunk, Ground Control coilover kit with stock struts and GN top hats, hollow sway bars (brand????), SS brake lines, ATE fluid, and haven't settled on a brake pad yet.

There's a lot of people with experience with the Perrin EBCS. I think there's a sticky on it too. Just do a search.

as i understand it, you do not want ebc because it conlicts with your ecu for the same job. i'm sure someone more qualified will correct me if i'm wrong.

as i understand it, ebc fights with the ecu for the same job. the custom tune should do it.

you can use the EBCS without tune, but it whill spike bigtime, in interrupt mode. simply using it in the regular mode (like the oem denso unit) will be spikeless, and show margin gains at best (hear it does hold boost better however)

imo, get dedent tune with these mods. your car will really come to life, and should be like stock + 22%

im headed in a similar direction.......

Either jump in with both feet and go for a substantial power upgrade, or just put the DP on it, get a custom tune, and pocket the rest. IMO, the "Perrin EBCS, Perrin crank pulley, Walbro FP, FPR modded to 53 psi" are a waste of money and none of it is needed with the stock turbo tuned to 18 psi.

A DP and a tune is a "Stage 2", and I drove one for over a year and loved it. Quiet, stealthy, and tons of fun. That's my $0.02.

Oddly enough, I am modded to the teeth, but the Ecutek reflash makes the car drive smoother than stock.

IIRC, the Cobb Stage 2 would supposedly max out @ 96%, on a really cold day. I never had any problems leaning out on top, if that's what you mean, but I was also running the ECU controlled boost control.

Pretty much anything beyond a TBE and a reflash, however, and you'll need injectors and the fuel pump. If you do that though, you might as well jump in with both feet - trust us when we tell you it is a slippery [and expensive] slope once you go past that first step.

I know you mean well, but you have a *slight* conflict of interest here!
