Default mod my sti should i or not

my 2007 sti runs great has 30,000 miles on it my question is should i have it tuned it has always had the stock flash on it and put on down pipe and will help or hurt i'm always reading how the stock ecu causes problems
with ringlands ?

I'm not clear if you have the downpipe on it or not, but being an 07 you should have it tuned, or just get the Cobb AP.

I'd say yes and go full turbo back and cobb AP and leave it at that. It's basically another kind of stock. You would be marginally increasing wear (*if any at all) to such a small extent that you wouldn't ever notice. If you do replace the exhaust you can see what I mean - the stock exhaust is pretty sad and restrictive. Stage 2 simply takes advantage of free flowing exhaust and about 2 more psi.

Once you go with different turbos and things like that is when you need to start worrying about drivability and increased wear. I can promise you this, if you decide to go Stage 2 you will not regret it. However, don't just get an exhaust and no tune, and a tune without exhaust is pretty pointless for how much it costs.
