Default element tuning catchcan=peterson fluid systems catchcan

I was looking into buying a catch can and I saw the elementtuning catchcan

Element Competition Catch Can-$300 It looks great and I have heard it functions well.

The price on that seemed pretty steep so after some research I found the company Peterson Fluid systems. I called them up and asked the big honcho at that company about there catchcan product number 08-0410.

Peterson Fluid Systems : Breather Cans-]$83

It turns out that the elementuning catch can and the peterson fluid systems catchcan is the exact same thing. Element even buys the catchcans from peterson. I just thought it was rather shocking how much more element charges for the same product. Don't get me wrong I love element but I just thought I would inform the subaru community of this recent discovery

I am in no way affiliated with peterson or element, just a consumer trying to get the best bang for his buck.
I'm not sure if this thread is in the right place I just thought it had to do with the 2.5 liter motor factory. Please move if needed.

I think they make great turbos and other stuff but the 300 dollar price tag for the catchcan is a little staggering.
I called up peterson and the cathcan with the bracket and the same fittings on the element tuning is only $116 all you need to do is supply your own tubing and t fitting, but they can also supply that.
In the end your price will be cut in half for the same product!
just another pocket savy find

"Element Competition Cans were developed out of necessity for the rigors of road racing 500+ HP Subarus."

"Off the shelf "catch cans" weren't performing well to separate the crankcase oil vapors at high velocity."

I can see why they have to sell them for $300 to offset ALL THAT R&D.
I don't know who should be more ashamed...the guys selling $300 catch cans or the people who bought them. Grats on the whistle blowing.
