IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 | Ok, I have some extra $ to spend I've been thinking of either getting : A) Maddad Header + AEM Cold Air Intake + Meth Kit to Max out my VF39 (and a tune of cuz) or B) 20G + Injectors (and tune) or C) Gold 18x9.5 CE28N What do you guys think? I know C wasn't really a power plan option, but heck I will just let you guys see what should I do Any comment or advise are welcome Thanks! (ps, I am at cobb stage 2 now, running on 91octane, daily driver) |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | Are you lowered, if so get the rims but go with something like an 18x9" or something. 9.5" is really wide and don't forget you need tires. I don't know what to suggest b/c I don't know what you want. Give us more details... |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 | If you've got a fuel pump already too then I'd say go 20G! From what I've read, our VF39's aren't the hot stuff when it comes to being reliable (cracks). If you had a VF43 then I'd say go ahead and max out the VF. This is what I would do. Although I did buy my $2000 Prodrive GC010G's before any power...Hope this helps... |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 | If you had 93oct I'd say 20g without a doubt, but the fact that you have Cali 91oct means you probably won't see huge gains off of a 20g. What are all of your mods? BTW, if you get an intake get an APS, not AEM. |

... I wanna stick with AEM so I can have the CARB decal and yes... I believe 20G could get me around 310-320whp while if I max out the vf39 I can have around 290whp (I hope) but 20G will give me a much better top end power

both the fastest 20g Turboed STi and the VF39 Turboed STi both runs 11.7 and both traps the same. second and third fastest stock turbo sti are both in 12 flat and as for 20g turboed STi i think second fastest is 12.3 and only difference is the 20g turboed STi has way more mods, costing more. so yes both 20g and VF39 FTL... hahaha Quote:
i have a VF39 pushing it to its limit has about 23k miles now has 1 crack and still stronger than ever. as for VF43 im sure that turbo is gonna crack also, just give it time its basicly the same as vf39 just differnt wastegate size hole. hell even on a a bone Stock STi with only 12k never really driven hard it has a crack. Quote:
hahaha 20g is a waste of cash. you dont gain much from this turbo. for the cost of doin it the spool compare to VF39 or VF43 cant be compared to 20g turbo top end the 20g has a lil avantage. so if your goin to do big turbo, get something worth the cash FPgreen or bigger Quote:
since your from they bayarea, your lucky ur in good hands hahahaa top 3 of the fastest stock turbo VF39ners are from the bay as of right now 1st and 2nd, is tuned by ED @ Eq-Tuning and 3rd is tuned by GST if you do plan on maxing out your stock turbo, let me know i can prolly help ( MAXED STOCK TURBO IS LIKE INSTANT POWER ON ANY RPM ) 20g is really not the way to go. its basicly a waste of money. for a upgraded turbo. if your planning to move on from stock turbo. ATLEAST GET SOMETHING FPGREEN size - Sean Quote:
dont worry about carb sticker too much, even if you did have it. its really up to the cops if he wants to give you a ticket or not. i know cuz i have friends with carb sticker everything and still get fat state ref ticket. 290whp hahahaha try higher for maxed out VF39 alot higher hahaha PS get rid of that AEM intake that **** is worthless Last edited by 13onesti; 02-19-2008 at 04:48 AM..

IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 | Well outside the country of California they have real gas called 93 octane. With some of that the 20g can make 40whp over a vf39 with just injectors and a pump. |
