There are not forged OEM pistons in 08 STI!

In the rewiev of the 08 STI does Subaru project manager Hiroshi Mori say:

"The nitride hardened crank is carry over from the earlier sti, and the deeper webbed rods and the FORGED pistons are new part numbers"

Forged pistons,Recaro seats and keyless ignition are probably the same place. NOT in USDM. Can you hear me SOA?

They are testing the USDM sti in the magazine.

They also write "An IHI sourced single scroll turbo peaks at 14.7psi of boost, 2.8 psi higher than in the wrx. Variable timing mechanisms adjust the intake and exhaust cams with a tune aimed at flatter torque curve. The increase from 293 hp in the old sti to 305 is mainly due to the larger IC and a higher volume exhaust silencer and lower restriction catalyst according to Mori"

Sonds like they are talking about the USDM sti to me!

usdm and jdm sti are very different, its almost totally different engine with same body.
