Default POLL between CObb or APS Exhaust

IF YOU COULD TAKE EITHER ONE FOR FREE WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE, COBB or APS?

I was having a hard time deciding between the COBB TBE and the APS TBE. I decided to go with the COBB. I know it cost a tad more but after weeks of research on the forums, weeks of sound clips on youtube, and personal experience with COBB quality, I have decided to go with COBB. I know some may not agree with me which is higher qualtiy but thats my opinion. The hardest time for me was which one sounds better and I'm still not sure, they both sound great I'm still 50-50 on it. I just wanted to see what most of you would have chosen? Any comments and personal experience with these exhausts are appreciated. THanks.

This is the same problem I am having, trying to decide between these two. Since I'm looking for a catted TBE, the APS is more expensive. I think I am leaning toward the APS exhaust due to fact that the COBB necks down for the downpipe/midpipe connection. I know it doesn't make much of a difference, especially since I'm not going for big power. I'll see what kind of response this thread gets, I'm sure it'll be a draw.

I'm also going for catted but I was under the impression that the COBB cost a bit more. Anyway both baller status exhausts ALso another thing that I like more about the COBB is that it is a little bit more quiter, and the tip is a bit smaller (Cops wouldn't even think its aftermarket).

lol don't think that there are thread on nasioc from people with completely stock exhaust getting stopped in cali.

I personally have the catless APS 3" on one car and the 3.5" on another and love them both.

Most people at first glance that I know dont even know the APS 3" is aftermarket it just blends right in and has a nice low rumble at idle, it is fairly loud but nothing compared to the 3.5 it does open on up very nicely when yo go wot though.

I have always loved the fitment of everything APS that I have had yes, they can be a tad expensive at times but I would rather pay slightly more for something to fit perfect than less to have to fab parts.

I have had no experiences with cobbs exhaust but never heard of any fitment issues with it either but I have also never heard that exhaust in person so I don't really know how it sounds but based on the AP I love cobb too but APS gets my exhaust vote.

- Cobb is quieter. APS is louder (in both 3" and definitely 3.5" form).

- Cobb is more restrictive (2.5" taper at midpipe). APS is 3" turbo to tip.

- Cobb and APS pricing is almost the same - not enough to rule one out.

Either exhaust is nice - having had both on my car - but I'm happier with the full 3" of the APS and the more agressive sound.

APS because it doesn't have a 2.5" bottleneck.

I dont know much of anything about the APS. I went with Cobb for it's stock-ish look and I am pretty sure it isnt as loud as the APS. I prefer the stealth of the Cobb. Im sure you would be happy with either though.

I LOVE my APs 3''. Great sound, power gains, looks, build quality. Might be a little $$ but to me it worth it.

Another issue I had with the Cobb was the smaller-than-stock exhaust tip. That always annoyed me for some reason. I know the ID of the stock and Cobb tips were the same, but the stock tip has the extra outer thickness making the OD ~4" IIRC.

Does this mean that with a tune the APS will produce greater power gains because it is 3" all the way through? or will it not make that much of a difference in power from COBBS 2.5" piping? Also why in the world would COBB not go 3" all the way through, I mean if anyone knows what they are doing its COBB?

Turbocharged engines don't like back pressure, so a larger diameter pipe will yield more power. They say the difference between 2.5" and 3" isn't a concern until 300+whp. I say go with the full 3" because it certainly can't hurt anything.

Cobb went with the 2.5" taper so it could mate up with the stock exhaust.

According to COBB their exhaust is the least restrictive it can be and provides the greatest possible gains through R&D. But for some reason after reading some of these responses I got a feeling APS is the better route for power. Lets say I plan on staying stage 2, just the AP and TBE. Then it should not matter which one I pick when it comes to power gains, right?
