I am looking into it right now and will post up if I find anything. **UPDATE The Amsoil filter is a direct replacement for the K&N filter, so apparently it wont fit an 06/07 either. The OD is the same for the Amsoil and K&N filter Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | What are some more details it in not fitting? Just couldnt squeeze it in here? Edit: I may have found a solution, but I can not confirm yet. I may try to install my APS CAI this weekend with the old K&N filter to see if I can get it to fit since the Amsoil filter I ordered is the same size. I am going to keep looking and I will post up again if I find a def solution or get it to fit this weekend. In the mean time.. Ok. As you pointed out, the OE APS CAI filter already has a tough time fitting within the fender. Now imagine another 1" in diameter (however much bigger the K&N is. Here is where you will have problems: ![]() The tube you are referencing is a bit misleading. Once you get into the install you will see that the firewall (?) with the arrow will get in the way. Also, the infamous bracket will be in the way. Last edited by La Mer; 02-06-2008 at 08:21 AM. | |||||

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | New filter came today. This doesnt look promising. The Amsoil filter looks to be bigger than the one that came with the intake. Im going to try and install it this weekend and see what happens. ![]() Also my own rejuvenation of a used APS ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by fourseasonsandles; 02-07-2008 at 04:18 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | I found after removing my APS CAI today (do to the wife not liking the intake sound <WHOOOSH!>) that the bumper clips hit the K&N filter on mine as well. The K&N filter mesh was dented in at the top of 2-3 fins but won't affect flow. It is close to the inside fender wall but doesn't touch or rub. Also, I noticed after putting the stock airbox back on that I lost a noticeable amount of power (not a huge amount but definitely noticeable) and w/o the snorkus in, the stock airbox isn't much quieter than the APS. I decided to just repaint the APS (black or WRB) and somehow convince my wife to let me keep it...regardless of the noise. ![]() |
