Just pulled the avcs in 04 STI with 43k, passenger side had drop down both were very clean and fully intact....

So just to confirm, this filter is ONLY on 04's??

Or is it 04-05??

Someone has already confirmed it NOT on 06-07 right!

MY04 and the beginning of MY05 had the AVCS filter. The details are in the beginning of this thread as far as when they stopped installing them at the factory. Anyone with an AVCS banjo bolt filter should remove it per the Subaru TSB.

MY04, 05, and 06 have the turbo oil supply line banjo bolt filter.

MY07 (with it's new heads and supply line) does not have the filter. I have verified this on another member's car.

i got a squeak when i engine break and after revving the engine in park while its coming back down to idle... also at sslow speeds like from a stop to 20mph.
could this be from oil starvation to the turbo, because of one of these filters?

I'd check your accessory belts first.
