If you had enough bearing/piston to cylinder wall friction to eliminated to free up 3-5 HP you would be making A TON of heat in the engine and killing bearings to reach said delta. |

| Silver Member | I assume that means you don't believe it is possible to gain some power from different oil. Let me say this. It's very common in racing for teams to use a different (lighter) oil for qualifying and then put some heavier oil in the engine for the race. It really does add some horsepower. I have also read several tests where small gains were shown on a dyno just by switching to a different oil. Anyway, it's possible, not just marketing. Not like anyone is gonna feel 3 horsepower... |
