IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2003 Trader Rating: (2) | Tandem charging like this can create a pretty brutal machine. With the roots type supercharger, off-idle torque has got to be significantly improved even at a fairly low pressure of 5 psi or so. Then when the big gun turbo kicks in, it does so more seemlessly without sacrificing an impressive top end. The only problem I see with that setup is in not intercooling it after the supercharger. Sure, an efficient FMIC immediately after the turbo can be feeding it fairly cool air, but the motor will always have to be slightly detuned to handle the extra heat that the supercharger adds in afterward. It can probably work great, but in going to all that work, I think the owner should have taken that extra little step of plumbing it in after the supercharger. Perhaps there is a longevity issue with the supercharger to consider however where higher intake temps shorten it's life. I must confess that's something I know nothing about.
