what IS going on with the o7's ? Mine is fine and a handful of friends on the forum that have o7's are doing just fine too. If you are contacting Cobb it is most likely because you feel this pertains to all o7's running AP not just ones you have tuned. Please provide more information to clarify because it seems like you are just spreading bad info about o7's without specific proof. No disrespect to you or your tuning abilities but Cobb is a VERY professional company and i doubt they would release a product that would cause "failures" outside of the warning they have already issued using LC/FFS

| nulla poena sine lege | Cobb has issued recalls before, just like any other company....sways, links, short-ram...dp...etc....it happens to the best company's. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | Well I talked to Hill today, and he is going to make me a map using the non-LC/FFS map as a base. He said it is not a huge deal to switch the map over, and may take a half hour or so. I am only doing this because of the 4th to 5th gear change issue I described earlier. Hill has not seen any issues with the cars he has tuned with the LC/FFS map as a base. I don't know the lingo very well, but I am pretty sure he said he has only heard of issues with these maps when tuners improperly adjust the ignition timing (????) or something like that. Either way, if the 4th to 5th issue is fixed with the new map, then that map stays. Otherwise I am going to schedule an appointment at Agile to let them have a look. Every time I contact Agile/ Hill I feel like my money was well spent. |

"I haven't had any issues" "My car runs fine and haven't noticed anything" Etc... YOU DONT have to notice something is strange or wrong for their to be a major catastrophic failure in the works. I can't stress that enough. Carry on.

It is a great feature and is entertaining but, for normal consumers who want to drive a car for many years it is not a function that makes a lot of sense. Keep in mind that COBB has a serious disclaimer regarding the use of LC and NLS maps on the page where you down load those maps. Those who want to use it on occassion and with moderation should have no problem. However, those few customers who beat the heck out of their cars and who use this feature every where they go are going to wear out clucthes, shorten the life of the transmission and put undue stress on the pistons which are weak. I have installed this on a lot of cars per customer request and no one has had a problem to date. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | The bucking under light load is due to the ETC mapping, it can be fixed. There are a bunch of stock and tuned 07 STIs blowing motors. Some of it can be contributed to hard part failures. Some can be attributed to running out of fuel. Subaru changed many parts on the 07 STI. They did screw up a few things to say the least. Gabe |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | This is just about LC and FFS, this has nothing to do with going Stage 2 + protune without LC or FFS. There's no problem with going your route. Just do your research and you'll be fine. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | In case any of my customers were wondering, no you don't have to worry about this with my tunes. I recently got some current logs from 07's I tuned in the past to see if this was something my customers had to worry about. They're running just fine. I tested Cobb FFS on one car at the customer's strong request and could see the potential for poor consistancy in the tune and eventual damage so that was the end of it.
