IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | The WG stays closed driving around and idling. It's when you get into boost(12psi in my case) it opens up. By then you are moving pretty good and don't need to worry about heat in the surrounding area. Dumping to the ground or straight up in the air is gonna be loud no matter where you aim it. But putting it dumping right under the middle of the car would probably be the loudest because of reverberation inside the cabin. Just get it dumping back into exhaust. I think the helix WG-uppipe and DP do that. Any exhaust shop can do it to any tbe really. I know my P&L EWG setup alond with the TXS tbe w/rfl is REALLY LOUD! I love it. When the WG opens up can't even hear the rfl anymore. The look on surrounding faces nearby is priceless. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | Wanted to give an update on the P&L motorsports EWG kit. It is performing great. Nothing surrounding it is seeing any signs of heat fatigue. Honestly the only thing remotely close is the dump tube to the inner cv joint on the right axle. But, even that is not close enough to generate noticable differences in CV temps from one side to the other. This is a well designed kit and performs great. Once temps warm up I'd like to use a digi laser temp gauge to check for any hot spots that may need wrapping during 90+ degree days. Right now the cold temps are certainly keeping everything nice and cool. This kit rocks! |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | i've been searching and searching.. so far no answers.. so if anyone can suggest an up-pipe with an external wastegate that would be compatible with an RS*R downpipe.. i would greatly appreciate any insight! |

If they cant help, I'd suggest the slowboy racing UP. IIRC, its just a invidia UP thats been cut and welded for a ewg, but it doesnt take up much room. I know this because it fits with both the bellmouth invidia dp AND the non-bellmouth hks dp. The non-bellmouth hks dp doesnt angle back as close to the firewall as bellmouths do, so if it fits with a hks dp, it should fit with any bellmouth dp. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | It will also depend on which brand of wastegate(tial or turbosmart are popular) and what size in the brand you choose. Tial 44 is a different size than turbosmarts.Figure out what you want to use than call /e-mail a RSR vendor about your decision. I don't see why the P&L wouldn't work as that is being used with the hardest dp out there to mate to a EWG kit with. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 | Regarding installation, can I install it myself and drive to the tuner without issues just running off the 14lb spring pressure? (with the iwg bracketed shut) |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | Is there any formula for figuring out which size spring to use with a particular application or boost level? |
