Default Re: The EWG FAQ (External Wastegate)

I'll know for sure about the P&L motorsports EWG and its fitment w/the TXS 4"downpipe hopefully today or tomorrow so long as my tuner tells me my car is done and I can pick it up. I'll take some installed pics on car and post them then.
For the two jackasses who keep bickering... go back to Nasioc and stay there. Nobody wants a good thread hijacked. "Grimmspeed is the best" is just speculation as of right now(fitment) and UR works but tight fit is proven over and over. So has its ability to take abuse as there are guys running 500-700hp. Actually, hundreds of them if not more. Guess what, I bet the P&L is a REALLY tight fit and a PITA to squeeze in there too. P&L longevity of the modified TXS uppipe(flex is a +)is not yet proven as it's 1 month out old and it will take 1-2 yrs of abuse for owners to fully prove metal isn't fatigued from all the welding done. $750 for uppipe/44mm Tial WG(most don't come w/one) and dump tube isn't that bad of a price IMO. TXS wanted $700 for uppipe, downpipe, and dumptube. NO wastegate in that price. Agile wanted $650 for dump to atmosphere Turbosmart38mm that works with TXS 4"DP and would take weeks to get after order was placed(they are jerks and that's all I'm gonna say about that). P&L did it for me because I can still run my currwent TXS tbe and use the Tial 44.
Pics and full review soon of the P&L EWG.

Here's a pic of the P&L next to the 4" TXS bellmouth.

I can tell you that the P&L setup with my Cobb dp was a very close fit. If I had my downpipe wrapped the wrap would prob touch the dump tube.

Ok I have a few questions after reading through this post. I am planning on running a EWG setup with the main priority of holding more boost through redline instead of hitting 20 and falling to 13.5psi. I have been reading and searching through IWSTI and NASIOC and in a post back around page 4 of this thread someone suggests upgrading to a 3 port boost control solonoid, any reason why a person needs to do this? I have not heard of this being required so I just was looking for more information.

Also people are fighting back between UR setup ($$$$) and Grimmspeed (which has no price yet). Anybody have any experience with the Helix V3 uppipes w/ 38mm Tial combo that gruppe-s sells for $399.99? This is the direction I am leaning just b/c of the price (helix seems to have a good reputation and Tial speaks for themselves)

Any input?

Now when it comes to disabling the IWG in my vf39, I do remember seeing at one time a company who made a bracket to disable the wastegate arm but cannot for the life of me remember the company name/website. Any help there?

Area 1320 makes the bracket. I got it with my P&L kit + TXS DP. Fits perfect with wrap also.
