IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 | As far as I know, the wastegate will open at whatever your spring pressure is at. So if the spring pressure is 14lb, your wastegate will open at 14psi. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 | the ECU controls the wastegate just like the stock internal wastegate doesnt it? i was told the usual spring is a .9 bar spring which is what I have and what my tuner told me to get. I plan on running about 19 psi. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | No, the ECU doesn't operate the EWG, it is controlled by pressure. That is why the spring is important b/c if you get a very stiff spring and don't boost that high, the EWG won't open. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 | so clearly the stock internal wastegate is controlled by the ecu. it doesnt just open at a certain boost level. So how would the EWG hold the boost? say i install the .9bar spring in my car. If i run spring pressure i'll see 13 psi correct? but if i want to run 19 psi, how would that work? I guess the better question is what good is the prodrive boost solenoid if the wastegate simply opens at 13 psi? |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 | I beleive the solenoid controls the ewg, because you have to run a hose from the top of it to the solenoid. Anybody know what spring I should run? Got the P&L kit and it came with the one bar spring. Currently running 23lbs on pump 25 on racegas. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 | im kinda convused as well cuz i thought the boost solenoid goes to the wastegate. And if the wastegate is controlled by the solenoid, why does the spring even matter? maybe a ewg expert will chime in |
