I'm cluess about modding this car, it's an '05 STi. The only system that I have seen that looks fairly simple with huge gains is http://www.xcceleration.com/sti.stagekit.430.htm this thing but I know nothing about modding and what it does to reliablity, etc. Has anyone installed this kit? Also... do these cars have waste gates on them stock, or POV's? I have never heard anything while driving it. Curious how you would set-up a POV too, I keep reading that they have different strength springs and you can set the release pressure... how do you know what to set it at? If you set it to soft will it just dump off all of your boost or if you set it too stiff will it screw up your turbo? Is this a mod that can be installed easily? Any help is appreciated... Thanks in advance.

the sti has an internaly wastegated turbo.
that stage kit is not accurate. there is no way you will get 430 hp out of the stock turbo, or fuel system. i would not trust anything from them with those claims.

look into the access port from cobb www.cobbtuning.com it will be released next monday.

the utec is out, but if you don't know anything about tuning i would stay away from it. www.turboxs.com

also look into turb back exhausts, start doing some research on which one is best for you.

i would recommend upgrading the springs to the real sti pink set available for around 400 shipped.

most of all do alot of research before buying. and remember just cause you read something on the internet, that does not mean it is true. you may want to check out www.clubwrx.net and www.nasioc.com as well as www.i-club.com for more research.

It should also be noted that just because it costs more or has a big name backing it does not mean it is the best. There are alot of companies out there that you may not have heard of that make good products. I myself am running alot of Stromung stuff. I had never heard of them before until I put one of their cat back systems on my 03 SER. It was great and sounded awesome. I know they make an exhaust under their name but I also think they make the one for Cobb as they look suspiciously alike. Their products are also cheaper. Once again, it depends on where you want to go with it all. The Accessp Port from Cobb has alot of R&D behind it. The utec does as well but you will need to fine tune it to work smoothly for what parts you are adding. This usually means finding someone with a dyno and tuning ability as well as Money! There are a huge number of places that you can buy parts for your car at. I have found however that www.boxer4racing.com is one of the better. Ask for Dale and he can head you in the right direction. Also note that because a part makes more noise or sounds cool does not mean it is making the car run better and you can be sure that some mods can do more harm than good.
