i just istalled a APS short ram intake into my 04 sti and i was wondering if any of you have done this, doesnt have to be a aps , or even a short ram, but if you have done this please post a reply with what you think or if you have any problems or suggestions. and also do you guys think it is better to leave the stock air duct that is located in the front of the car between the hood and the front grill. please any replies would be greatly appreciated
and also do you guys have any comments on the pde downpipe,....

I had a Greddy airinx. I pulled it out because I was getting boost creep with my 3" TBE. I ported the wastegate and still got boost creep and felt a loss of lower end power. I went back to the stock airbox and will be staying with that until I have engine management and can properly tune for a different intake.

I know of a former Prodrive engineer who has his own rally prep shop now. He uses the stock airboxes exclusively on all his rally cars pusing over 300WHP with 325+ fl/lbs torque through the SCCA ProRally 32mm turbo inlet restrictor on a JDM EJ20T. That's enough to convince me that the stock box is ok.

I have an APS short ram. You may know the filter is a K&N, so if you clean it, make sure you don't over oil it.

I removed the ram air piece and the entire resonator.

Yeah I don't think it would make a huge differance... BUT, I kinda am telling people to stay away from intakes until they can tune it, because I know there have been a lot of problems. with them, I never hear someone saying, I just LOVE my new intake!
