STi Sport Grille Installed this morning...

The install is super easy. The instructions advise to remove the front bumper cover to access the 4 small screws holding in the bottom part of the grille. There MIGHT be a way to do it with only partially removing the bumper, but I didn't try it, the bumper comes off REALLY easy. I was going to take pictures and post a how-to but there really is no hidden screws or tricks to get it off like on previous models. It's all push-in type clips.

Four in the fender liners, 6 on the bottom, and 4 under the hood. Pop them all out and the bumpers pulls straight out. From there the grille is just some screws and more push clips to swap over. It would have taken me longer to take pictures than actually do it all. By myself, first time, the install took 15 minutes and screwdrivers, one flathead & one philips.

Impressions: It looks, well, cute. It's not ugly, but it is taking me some time to get used to. It blends in a little better and to me, makes the car look more subtle, bland, grown up maybe. With some additional front end cosmetics it should flow a little better but with stock it's not eye-popping attractive. Not a bad mod, but I think I should have saved the two hundred bucks and used it for endlinks or something.

Fitment is actually a bit off for being a genuine Subaru part. The plastic grille is a tad bowed out near the headlamp, if you look close you can see a gap that was not there with the OE grille. Possibly warped from sitting in a box in the Las Vegas heat, but I doubt it. Not bad enough to worry about, but not perfect like it should be.
