Wrapped the down pipe tonite. Here's 50 feet of 2 inch fiberglass wrap.
Letting it dry and will coat it with hi-temp silicone spray tomorrow.
Note, it took longer to dry then expected. Crap it is still wet. Left it outside in the sun the next day and it finally felt dry by evening. I painted it the next day.
Although I'm going with COBB AP I decided to do the mechanical CEL fix anyway. Here are the directions:
NASIOC - View Single Post - Cruise Control Light Blinks After Turbo Back Installation??
Putting the anti fouler in a vise I used small drill bits first and worked my way up to the 1/2 inch bit. I used a hand drill with a little WD40. Cleaned it up and installed as directed using some anti-sieze on the threads.
Heat shield removed. To save some time I left the TMIC on. That made getting leverage on one of the heat shield screws difficult and sure enough it broke.

I think I'll swap these screws out with new SS screws before I cut the heat shield and reinstall. Pics coming.
