Default Re: -Four's '06 CGM (A new ASS end)

Been searching for a catback for some time now. I was considering new, but thought that if I could find a used one with low miles I would jump on it. Just by chance last Friday night I happened to check the Nasioc for sale threads. Found a used Cobb CBE with 5000 miles on it for $480 shipped. Added in 3% for the paypal and got me a new exhaust on yesterday!

This is officially my first exhaust I have ever put on a car. Install was pretty straight foward. I couldnt get the stock midpipe and CB apart under the car as the bolts were rusted pretty tight even after several blasts of PB Blaster, so I had to take it out as one piece. Bolted right up the the Cobb DP with no issues and no leaks. It is a bit louder than I would like and I will have to get used to the sound, but overall I am happy with it. Just need a few more things before a tune!

Cobb TBE FTW!

Check the pics! Car is dirty in the first pic

Wish this one was a bit more clear.. you get the idea though!

**Update on the exhaust** 6/23/07: At first I thought this exhaust was loud and it was compared to the stocker, but after sometime I am getting used to it. It is not loud at all with the windows up and I do not notice much of a difference. I enjoy listening to it with the windows down though. It gives the car a bit more of a presence. I also like the way it screams when you get on the throttle.

Today on my lunch (yes I got stuck working a Saturday) I was at a local grocery store to pick up some food. I ran across a WRB 06/07 WRX. He had a exhaust on it and noticed how much louder it was than mine. I didn’t get a good look at it but it was more of a canister design. I liked the sound of it, but it was still a bit louder than I would like. So now that I have had a bit of a comparison with the Cobb vs. a louder exhaust, I am quite happy with my purchase (Got a great price too!). Still looking forward to finishing up some power mods and getting a tune in the spring!
